The Smyrna Business Association honored Russ Lutterbie as the Business Person of the Year for 2013 at the May 6 meeting at the SmyrnaCommunity Center.
After his commercial real estate business closed during the recession, Lutterbie started Associated Home Inspectors in 2009 and has grown the business while recently opening a division for Spanish speaking clients. Associated Home Inspectors was awarded the Best of Smyrna designation for home inspectors in 2011 and 2012 by the US Commerce Association.
Associated Home Inspectors combines over 25 years of real estate inspection, construction and lending experience in the residential and commercial markets.
The award was presented by SBA Past President Allan Lipsett.
Lutterbie is a former president of the SBA (2009-2010) and served as a director, organizing the Alive After 5 program and Shop With A Hero sponsorship. He has also served as president of the Canton Road Business. He was an inaugural member and 1st vice-president of the North Cobb Civitan club.
He has two children Matthew Lutterbie (28) and Sarah Lutterbie (18) and is devoted to Rhenna Rice.
The Smyrna Business Association has annually presented the award since 1985 to a member who exemplifies community service and business savvy.
