Mableton Farmers Market To Open

The Mableton Farmers Market will open its tenth season at the Mable House Complex on June 13 and will run through Aug. 22.  The Market will operate every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Along with a wide variety of tasty, fresh, good-for-you produce grown by local small farmers, there will be fresh-baked items, honey, eggs and cooking demonstrations.  The demonstrations will show visitors quick and easy ways to prepare summertime dishes using fresh produce the Market has to offer…and there will be free samples!  Cobb & Douglas Public Health will join us again also to promote their healthy lifestyles programs for families.

We are looking especially for small farm producers to join the Market this season.  If you are interested in selling at our Market, read the Farmers Market Rules and Regulations and the Hold Harmless Agreement.  Retailers and brokers are not eligible to be vendors.

If you are interested in applying to sell produce, click here to print the application.  If you want to apply to sell non-food items, click here  All applications must be accompanied by a signed Hold Harmless Agreement and any licenses, registrations and certificates for your products as required by state and Cobb County statutes and regulations.

The Market is a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) approved Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly food stamps) retailer.  Our partnership with Wholesome Wave Georgia enables SNAP customers to double their eligible food item EBT card purchases of up to $100 per Market day ($50 SNAP plus $50, thanks to WWG).  Come to the Market to find out about bonus SNAP token opportunities.  If you need assistance with SNAP enrollment or problems with your existing account, reach out to WWG online or call them and leave a message at 404-551-5996.  For general information about WWG, check out their website.  Consider making a tax-deductible donation to this very worthy charitable organization.
