18: GARDEN TOUR. Keep Smyrna Beautiful Garden Tour will take place Saturday, May 18 showcasing five private gardens within the community.  The Taylor Brawner House will host a plant sale, sponsor tables, a raffle of great prizes, and refreshments.  The tour is self-guided between the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets will be on sale in mid-April. 18: CAR SHOW.  Smyrna Jonquil Lion’s Annual Car Show on May 18. Proceeds are used almost exclusively for local needs. The car show features local classic cars and Adventure Outdoors has permitted the club to use their parking lot at 2500 South Cobb Drive for this family-oriented event. Cars begin arriving around 9 a.m. with judging concluded by noon. There will be great cars, raffles, food & drink.

19: CONCORD COVERED BRIDGE MEETING. The Friends of the Concord Covered Bridge Historic District will conduct its Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 19 at 3 p.m.  All members, as well as those who want to learn more about the Friends, are invited to attend.  The Meeting will take place at WellStar Vinings Health Park, 4441 Atlanta Road SE, Smyrna. Guest speaker will be Trevor Beemon, executive director of Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society. There will be representatives from Cobb DOT to share more information about the proposed additional measures to protect the Concord Covered Bridge from over height vehicles.  The Friends will also announce the 2019 Historic District Tour of Homes Event with details about the homes and ticket sales.
