15-17: BOOK SALE. The three-day spring book sale will take place at the Cobb County Civic Center Friday-Sunday, March 15-17. Hours will be 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. Cash and checks will be accepted and all profits from the sale go directly to buying more items for the 17 county libraries. Until 1 p.m. on Friday, ISBN scanners are not permitted and only two boxes of items at a time will be sold. Sunday is Bring Your Own Box Day, during which participants may bring any size box and fill it to the top. The civic center is located at 548 S. 22: TAX ASSISTANCE. Those seeking help with their taxes should attend the free “Financial Planning Bootcamp: Taxes” from 9 a.m. to noon, March 22. Tax experts will be available to answer questions on topics including the most common tax credits, itemized versus standard and above-the-line deductions. The workshop will be held at WorkSource Cobb, 463 Commerce Park Drive, Suite 100, Marietta. Registration is required. 23: GOT SHREDDING? Come and see us from 9 a.m. to Noon March 23 at the Aline Wolf Adult Recreation Center. Up to five (5) copy paper sized boxes will be accepted. Please remove all large chips, paper clips, notebooks, folders. We will have volunteers to help you unload your car. Want to watch your documents being shredded? Just park your car in one of the parking spaces and you can walk over to see the shredder do its thing.

26 GARDEN CLUB. Let’s Get Creative! Come and create floral designs suitable for your dining table with Jonquil Garden Club on March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Smyrna Library.  In-club designers Faith Iskiyan and Shirley Priest will lead members and guests in arranging the Tapestry in A Box and the Small Creative Mass designs while demonstrating contemporary design techniques. The club will provide all materials, except for scissors. Guests are requested to call Shirley Priest at 770-433-3248 to reserve a space for this hands-on program. Jonquil Garden Club meets the 4th Tuesday of each month (except for summer months) at 10:30 a.m. at Smyrna Library to explore gardening topics and projects.
