Austell Presbyterian Sets Living Nativity

For 56 years the Austell Presbyterian Living Nativity has delighted the South Cobb community. This year will build on the excitement of last when record crowds visited the church grounds. This year’s event begins at 7 p.m. each evening Dec. 20-22.

In addition to the live animals, this year’s edition will feature live music by the adult choir and praise team. Tony Peace and Friends will also be featured. Inside there will be free hot soup, tours of the decorated 124-year-old sanctuary, and children’s activities. This year there will also be carol singing around the fire.

“All of these activities are our gifts to this community,” said The Rev. Dave Pearce, pastor. “We want them to know we care.”

The Living Nativity is part of the church’s holiday calendar that includes a Lessons and Carols Worship on December 13 at 11 a.m., a Christmas Cantata on Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. and the well-attended Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 8 p.m. This year the church is adding a Children’s Christmas Eve service which begins at 6 p.m.
