JOIN THE FIRETRUCK EGG DROP SUNDAY

Easter is first about celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Join members of Life Church Smyrna for Easter Sunday service at 10 a.m. where we will worship, share communion, hear a compelling message, and hear all the kids singing the finale at the close of the service.

Afterwards, stay for some family photos and Easter Egg fun with our Annual Fire Truck Egg Drop courtesy of the Smyrna Fire Department. Kids ages pre-K through 5th grade will have an opportunity to gather candy filled eggs by age group after they are dropped by our own Pastor Osbon from the fire engine’s bucket.

2026 FRIENDS OF LIBRARY LECTURES WILL CELEBRATE AMERICA’S 250TH

Several of the lectures at the Smyrna library in 2026 will celebrate America’s Semiquincentennial (America250) by profiling Founding Fathers and Mothers of our state and country. All lectures will take place in the library meeting room.

On Sunday, May 3 from 3 – 4 p.m., Todd DeFeo, a member of the Friends of the Smyrna Library board and publisher/editor of Railfanning.org, will present the lecture “Transcontinental Railroad” highlighting how the national railroad network led to the adoption of a standard gauge, including the Western & Atlantic that passes through Smyrna.

RIBBON CUTTING HELD FOR MENTAL HEALTH MURAL

Attendees had a great opportunity to celebrate the finished mental health mural created by Paint Love and displayed at the Cobb Collaborative office for the ribbon cutting.  Local establishments such as Glenn’s Cafe and the First Christian Church of Mableton (FCCM) allowed the sections of the mural to be placed at their locations where people could show up to paint.  The ribbon cutting featured words of inspiration from Commissioner Sheffield, City of Mableton Councilman TJ Ferguson, Paint Love, Cobb Collaborative, FCCM’s Barry Smith and others.  The mural will be displayed at Switzer Library and eventually moved to Discovery Park.
