Sherman Francisco of Mableton built and donated 715 wheeled toys to Toys for Tots plus numerous wooden crafts for the Christmas House Arts and Crafts Show that continues through Dec. 11 a the Mable House Arts Center. Francisco designed and built this 46 piece Noah’s Ark that includes a storage bow in about a week. The toys “are simple to make and anything with wheels is a great fun,” he said.
The Christmas House Arts & Crafts Show offers many new handcrafted items this year due to the 19 new crafters accepted into the show. The jurors chose only quality handmade items that are also quite affordable. Among the new and returning exhibitors are Katrina Gray from North Augusta, SC who makes earthenware jewelry, Judith Giroux, Morrow, Ga. who brings newly designed knitted bracelets, and woodturner Steve Pritchard from Winston, Ga.
The show runs Dec. 2 – 11, and hours are Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Sunday 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. The Mable House Arts Center is located at 5239 Floyd Road in Mableton. For more information, call 770-819-3285 or for a taste of what is to come, “Like” us on Facebook.
Mable’s Tea Room will again be offering homemade soups and desserts, salads and sandwiches. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2 – 10 and closed on Sundays. Proceeds from the Tea Room benefit the art assistance program for local students. Be sure to call for reservations of six or more: 770-819-3285.
