The mural also features a history of the United States including the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. Special attention is placed on the history of Georgia, CobbCounty, and Smyrna in particular.

“We are so excited to have such a great artist such as Scott paint the mural for the media center. Not only will this add to the esthetics of media center, it will also allow the children to have a visual history of the world in front of their eyes every day,” said Principal Brett Ward.

The Smyrna Elementary PTA is currently looking for donations to help with the cost of this mural, which takes over a year to complete.  For a minimum contribution of $20, a person’s name, a family name or even a business name is added into the mural.
