Tree Lightings Open Christmas Season

The Holiday Season kicks off with Christmas Tree Lightings, Santa visits, and food and fun and music for all in the Smyrna-Vinings area.

Smyrna

Join Santa as he lights the Christmas Tree on Smyrna’s Village Green amid music, fun and food. on Nov. 28 from 5 – 9 p.m. for “Coming Home for the Holidays.”

Enjoy holiday festivities and musical performances at the Smyrna Community Center and see Santa light the big Christmas Tree on the Village Green at 7 p.m. Bring the entire family for all of it and ring in the season downtown. This event marks the first official evening of holiday lights in the downtown.

School choral groups will entertain on stages at the Community Center, there will be costumed characters for holiday photos and the Smyrna Business Association will offer hot dogs, hot chocolate, coffee and other refreshments at “Donner’s Deli.”

The City of Smyrna and the Smyrna Optimist Club will welcome Santa again this year on

Dec. 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Santa will be at Aunt Fanny’s cabin on Atlanta Road across from the Smyrna Market Village.

Vinings Jubilee

For more than 40 years families and friends have gathered at Vinings Jubilee to mark the beginning of the holiday season with the annual lighting of their Christmas Tree. And for 26 of those years friends and families have gathered around in celebration to light that tree at Vinings Jubilee. Enjoy lots of family activities, festive music, and holiday treats.

The Vinings Jubilee Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held at the Tower Stage  on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Like a scene from the North Pole, there will be train and pony rides for the kids, prizes, face painting, balloon twisting, festive music and holiday treats. Not even Santa Claus would miss this event; kids can tell him which presents they would like to see under their tree this year and pose for photos on his lap.
On the following two Fridays, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14, Rudolph is donating his sleigh to Vinings Jubilee. Guests can experience what it is like to be Jolly Old Saint Nick with free horse-drawn sleigh rides from 5 to 8 p.m.

The holiday season at Vinings Jubilee is perfect for the whole family, from Christmas traditions, holiday parties and get-togethers to festive activities and shopping opportunities. With dozens of specialty shops, boutiques and restaurants, patrons are sure to find something for everyone on their shopping list, and have fun while they are there.

Emory-Adventist

Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna will host its annual CHRISTmas for the Community on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m.

The event will take place in front of the hospital and feature choral groups from the area, a tree lighting and a special appearance by Santa.

There will be appearances by personalities from FISH radio station, local choirs, and  Smyrna Fire. Families are invited to bring their cameras for photos with Santa at the conclusion. Call 770-434-0710 for more information.
