Smyrna
Smyrna ushers in the holiday season on Tuesday, Dec. 3 on the Village Green from 5 to 9 p.m. with its annual Coming Home for the Holidays.
Watch Santa light the big Christmas Tree on the Village Green and transform downtown Smyrna with brilliant lights. Enjoy holiday festivities, musical performances by local church and school choral groups, activities for the kids, parade and a visit with Santa at the Smyrna Community Center.
Bring the entire family for all of it and ring in the season downtown. This event marks the first official evening of holiday lights in the downtown.
Children can visit Jolly Old Saint Nick following the tree lighting and at Santa House (in Aunt Fanny’s cabin) on Dec. 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 and 23 from 6 to 8 each night.
Emory-Adventist
Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna will host its third annual tree lighting event on the campus of the Hospital at 3949 South Cobb Drive, Smyrna.
This year’s event on Thursday, Dec. 5 begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include musical performances, warm drinks, and special appearances from Smyrna Fire Department and Santa.
Enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes and blessings of the season. Families and friends are encouraged to bring their cameras for photos.
Vinings Jubilee
Gather your family, friends and neighbors for an evening of holiday fun during the Annual Vinings Jubilee Christmas Tree Lighting. The event will be Thursday, Dec. 5 from 6-8 p.m. in front of the Clock Tower for holiday music, delicious treats, reindeer pony rides, Vinings Express train rides, face painting, balloon twisting, and (of course) Santa Claus.
You won’t want to miss pictures with Santa Clause, live holiday music performances by local schools, or our holiday drawings and giveaways. The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting is a free community event sponsored by Paces Holdings, the Vinings Jubilee Merchants and the Vinings Civic Club.
Austell
The City of Austell will hold its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, December 6, 2013. This event will begin at 6:00 PM and will be held at Collar Park (2625 Joe Jerkins Boulevard) adjacent to the City Hall/Police Department Complex.
Local school choirs will provide musical entertainment. Free hot dogs, hot chocolate, and pastries will be served. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on his sleigh, and everyone will have the opportunity to tell him their favorite Christmas wish!
