Braves Announce New Tenants At The Battery

2016-05-18 Walburgers rendering AThe Atlanta Braves announced eight new restaurant, retail and entertainment concepts to the lineup at The Battery Atlanta.

The 80 acres, $1.2 billion investment is the largest geographic marketing effort in all of pro sports, Jeremy Strife, Vice President of Braves and General Manager of The Battery Atlanta told the Smyrna Business association recently.

Sun Trust Park will be a traditional ballpark with southern hospitality, designed to have a more intimate experience,” he said. A cantilevered design brings the 41,500 seats closer to the field.

“It’s almost eerie how close you are to the field,” Strife said. A canopy cover 60 percent of the seats.

The park is upgrading its 400 current premium seats to 4,000. “We will still maintain the community aspect of this sport with 15,000 seats under $20; and 10,000 under $10. The intimacy of the $10 and $20 tickets are being enhanced too, he said. The Chop House, at 10,000 square feet  will include a Plexiglas wall that allows patrons to stand on the same grade as outfielder.

At The Battery, all eight tenants are expected to be completed by opening day in April, 2017. The commitments are from:

  • Wahlburgers, a fast growing, chef-driven burger concept from the Wahlberg brothers of TV and movie fame;
  • Kings Bowl, an upscale, retro bowling and entertainment destination;
  • Live!, an iconic dining/entertainment destination developed by The Cordish Companies and designed by Jeffrey Beers International;
  • Goldbergs Bagel Company & Deli, an Atlanta favorite for bagels and sandwiches;
  • Mountain High Outfitters, an outdoor specialty store;
  • Sugarboo Designs, an artsy boutique with household items and gifts;
