Keep Smyrna Beautiful is looking for new farmers, and no experience required!
City of Smyrna residents are eligible to lease plots at the Smyrna Community Garden in North Cooper Lake Park, 4201 North Cooper Lake Road in Smyrna.
Our soil is very forgiving and easy to work. Now is the time for outdoor planting of seeds for leafy greens-think spinach, collards, lettuce, English peas, potatoes, carrots, radishes and turnips. Gardening is great exercise, the people are great and the location is beautiful. We have 21 plots available for 2012 leases. Lease are good through December of 2012 and there is time to get in three separate crops before the year ends.
E-mail akirk@smyrnaga.gov requesting information and a lease form and plot map will be sent to you. We have gardeners of all skill levels and classes are available periodically. We will send you all the information that you need to get started.
